Nablus University for Vocational and Technical Education has received accreditation for four specialized approaches within its Bachelor of Nursing program, under the university’s first college, Ibn Sina College for Health Professions. The approaches, accredited by the National Accreditation and Quality Authority of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, include Pediatric Nursing, Neonatal Nursing, Critical Care Nursing, and Emergency Nursing.
The university president, Prof. Derar Eleyan, praised this achievement, which reflects the university's vision of adopting specialized programs that align with the needs of Palestinian society and address the shortage of specialized professionals in various sectors. He highlighted that this is the primary goal behind the establishment of Nablus University — to enrich Palestinian higher education institutions and to serve as a unique addition, particularly in the vocational and technical education sectors.
Prof. Eleyan also expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for its support and collaboration with the university's staff in achieving this accomplishment. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to obtaining similar accreditations for programs in its other colleges.
Dr. Nihad Bsharat, Dean of Ibn Sina College, emphasized that these nursing specializations, offered for the first time in Palestinian universities, were introduced based on an assessment of the actual needs of the Palestinian healthcare sector. This initiative continues the role that Ibn Sina College has played since its establishment in providing the local community with highly qualified and specialized professionals capable of meeting the needs of the Palestinian population. He noted that this importance has doubled in light of the rapid developments in the healthcare sector and the realities of the local community.
Dr. Bsharat explained that these programs aim to graduate nursing professionals who are capable of working in specialized departments and handling various cases. The programs will equip students with the necessary practical skills to integrate into healthcare institutions, based on the principle of learning by doing. This will be achieved through practical training and simulation labs housed in Ibn Sina College, with the goal of providing distinguished nursing services that improve the quality of healthcare.
