Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa met with a delegation from Nablus University for Vocational and Technical Education, which included the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Fathi Abu Moghli, several board members, and the university's president, Prof. Derar Eleyan. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Amjad Barham, to discuss the latest updates on the university.
During the meeting, Dr. Mustafa welcomed the attendees and shared his vision for the vocational and technical education and training system. He emphasized the importance of strengthening this system as part of the government's reform vision within a clear national strategy. The Prime Minister explained that this endeavor aims to provide a workforce equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to contribute to national development and resilience, particularly given the ongoing impact of war on the Palestinian people.
Dr. Mustafa praised the efforts of Nablus University in this field, especially its focus on preparing qualified nursing professionals at this critical stage. He highlighted the ongoing progress of the Ibn Sina College for Health Professions project, funded by the French government, describing it as the foundational step in building and developing the university according to the strategic vision for vocational and technical education. He stressed the need to support health and medical specializations due to the urgent national and regional demand.
For his part, Dr. Barham underscored the importance of studying the needs of the Palestinian and regional markets, affirming the Ministry's full support for projects aligned with the university's national vision, particularly the construction of Ibn Sina College for Health Professions and the systematic development of the university with well-planned and steady steps.
Dr. Abu Moghli expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for this opportunity, highlighting its significance in fostering communication between the two parties to advance the implementation of the government’s vision for the university. He emphasized the goal of making the university a leader in innovation and renewal within the vocational and technical education system in Palestine, aligned with the growing needs of the labor market and Palestinian society across various sectors.
Prof. Eleyan presented the latest developments at the university, affirming its commitment to expanding health-related specializations starting with the Faculty of Nursing. He highlighted the university's careful approach to expansion, ensuring it complements existing programs in Palestinian universities while providing a qualitative addition to the Palestinian healthcare sector.
